WindSync Wind Quintet

WindSync, the prizewinning Houston-based wind quintet, is recognized for its dramatic, fully memorized concert presentations that often feature collaborators from the worlds of music, dance, and multimedia. In its ninth season, WindSync builds highly thematic programs that feature landmark quintets, new works by American composers, and premiere arrangements of standard repertoire with the goal of increasing accessibility and cultural significance of wind chamber music.

Bach Society Houston

Bach Society Houston was founded in 1982 at Christ the King Lutheran Church to present Bach's cantatas in the context of a Sunday evening vespers service, inspired by the example of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manhattan. The late Robert Lynn was engaged as Music Director, and together with Rick Erickson worked to establish an ensemble that reflected the latest research and scholarship of historically-informed performance practice of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. A series of Bach Vespers was the Society’s first offering; the response of the public was overwhelming, and attendance at our home venue of Christ the King remained at capacity over the years as the number of presentations steadily increased.

American Brass Quintet

The American Brass Quintet is internationally recognized as one of the premier chamber music ensembles of our time, celebrated for peerless leadership in the brass world. As 2013 recipient of Chamber Music America’s highest honor, the Richard J. Bogomolny National Service Award for significant and lasting contributions to the field, ABQ's rich history includes performances in Asia, Australia, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East and all fifty of the United States; a discography of nearly sixty recordings; and the premieres of over one hundred fifty contemporary brass works.

Schumann String Quartet

The Schumann Quartet was accorded the 2016 Newcomer Award at BBC Music Magazine Awards in London for its previous CD Mozart Ives Verdi.  The three brothers Mark, Erik and Ken Schumann have been playing together since their earliest childhood. In 2012, they were joined by violist Liisa Randalu, who was born in the Estonian capital, Tallinn, and grew up in Karlsruhe, Germany. Those who experience the quartet in performance often remark on the strong connections among its members.

Mark Husey, Organ

Award-winning and critically-acclaimed American organist Mark Husey [hju-zi] is in his second season as Principal Organist at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Hollywood where he assists in leading a multicultural music ministry in the Jesuit tradition, playing weekly liturgies on a 1928 four-manual, fifty-five rank Casavant.

Dover String Quartet

Considered one of the most remarkably talented young string quartets ever to emerge at such a young age, the Dover Quartet was the Grand Prize-winner of the 2010 Fischoff Competition, won prizes at the International Competition in London, and in 2013 they won the first prize at the International String Quartet Competition in Banff. Their winner’s tour in 2014 included performances that left audience, press and promoters enthusiastic.
