About the event
In preparation for Daniel Hsu’s piano recital on November 19, Friends of Chamber Music presents The Piano from 1993. The film is directed by a New Zealander Jane Campion who became the first woman to win a Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Holly Hunter won Best Actress at Cannes for her portrayal of this character, who is very strongly emotionally tied to this instrument that is probably the most unreasonable thing you could bring on a boat. Watch to see how profoundly important a piano can be!
