Friends of Chamber Music B/CS Surprise Party for Bill Rogers

On August 24, 2019, Friends of Chamber Music Board Members and Patrons celebrated Bill Rogers’ 24 years as President of the Board of Directors

of Friends of Chamber Music B/CS.

The Friends honored Bill with musical gifts. The first gift came from Bonnie Harris-Reynolds and the Saint Cecelia Consort.

Another surprise musical gift was a complete set of the Violin Concerti by Mozart on CD (pictured upper left).

Next, there was a framed print of a 4x6 foot paper sculpture by Reinhard,The Rehearsal.  This particular paper sculpture, The Rehearsal, is the most famous one by Reinhard, a paper sculpture artist; the musicians depicted are the members of the Alban Berg String Quartet. The original work has been exhibited in the Oakland Art Museum, the Mint Museum in North Carolina, and the Historical Society Museum in New York City.

Jane Stowell, President of the Board of Directors, presented the print of The Rehearsal.

... Also, there was a delicious musical gift that Bill generously shared with all of us—a celebration cake with a fragment of a manuscript score by J. S. Bach printed on the frosting!
