FCM Digital Marketing and Operations Internship
Position Description
Since 1997, Friends of Chamber Music (FCM) has been presenting a full season of concerts and outreach programs by world-class musicians yearly, aiming to enrich the quality of life in Bryan-College Station, entertain, and inspire.
This paid internship will provide the intern with valuable, real-world experience and marketing and graphic design support for FCM. In addition, it will help participants develop professional networking skills through the opportunity to work with the general public, members, donors, and media outlets throughout the Brazos Valley.

INTERN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain thorough knowledge of FCM's mission and objectives

Create and release digital campaign materials (posts and reels) on social platforms

Collaborate and coordinate with FCM’s staff to distill the message to current and new target customers

Enhance the FCM’s online social media presence

Innovate across demographics boundaries to increase participation of younger groups

Plan and create digital campaigns to market upcoming concerts

Research and identify target customers

Assist with photo and video production (shooting, editing, etc.)

Assist with promoting concerts, including marketing, sponsorships, and special event planning and execution

Assist with the management of the fcmtx.org website

Perform miscellaneous duties related to marketing at concerts and special events, including greeting guests, concert ticket sales, event planning, and assisting with program set-up/take down, and other duties as assigned
This is an all-hands-on-deck organization, and you will have opportunities to expand your knowledge in many fields.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Experience in basic design programs, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite

Extensive knowledge in current social media platforms (also Facebook)

Excellent copywriting skills

Proficient in Meta Ads Manager

Effective project management skills; ability to multitask

Excellent written and communication skills

Computer proficient; strong working knowledge of Google Suite products and social media

Highly motivated; personable; energetic

Punctual and reliable

Ability to work as part of a team
PREFERRED SKILLS

Strong working knowledge of professional email etiquette

Knowledge of video editing software such as Premiere Pro
HOURS OF WORK
-
Per semester; for example Fall: mid-August to mid-December, depending on the class schedule

15-20 hours per week required; specific hours will be coordinated with the supervisor around your class schedule.

Occasional evening and weekend work is required to assist at concerts and special events.
COMPENSATION
-
Total salary of $1500 is paid in three installments $500 each over the semester.

This internship may fulfill the Marketing 484, Communication 484, and other course or internship requirements.

PHYSICAL EFFORT
The position involves minimal physical exertion. Walking, lifting, and time outside may be required on specific occasions. ​
